The Table
That Became
a Bridge.

I built a dining table inspired by the design of the Golden Gate Bridge.

A familiar object, borrowed shapes, and three materials I wanted to bring together: wood, metal, and glass.

The design, examined

A bridge, in four parts.

The connection isn't literal engineering. It's a visual idea carried through the structure and details of the table. Select a part to explore it.

The towers

The table legs take their cue from suspension-bridge towers. That reference is where the visual idea begins.

The design language

Art Deco influenced the tabletop, while glass added another material and a different kind of visual weight alongside the wood and stainless steel.
